Abstract:
To examine the impact of drugs on rebel behavior, in this paper we examine a related question, specifically, does their involvement in the narcotics trade necessarily lead to a decline in rebels’ relationships with local communities and commercial actors? Put differently, how does rebel involvement in illicit drugs affect the broader wartime order?
